For those who are there a little earlier we are having a get together in one of the Lawton family's favourite restaurants, modern twist on classic French food using locak ingredients. This set menu, with choices, is £50 each including aperitif, starters, amuse-bouche....

The menu is below. It has been specially created for us and we will have the whole restaurant to ourselves.
Please note this is only appropriate for adults, and children with adult tastes. This is not a location that does chicken nuggets (much to Phil's disappointment) and there is no child menu. We have arranged for a friend of the family to watch older children who are fairly independent, so that as many of you as possible can come along.
We have tried our best to translate the menus as accurately as possible, whilst still trying to communicate the deliciousness and style of the food. We do not have the exact vegetarian menu yet, but there is an option to select this on the form below and we can assure you that the food will be an interesting and stylish as the meat/fish options!
The Menu
On Arrival
- Apéritif Kir et canapés
- Something to whet your appetite- usually 3 small bites of deliciousness along with an aperitif. They do lovely non-alcoholic cocktails for those not drinking Often one of the canapés is a savory macaron- their specialty.
Starter
- Crumble de gambas et poivron confit légèrement épicé, mousseline d’avocat, légumes craquants, crème glacée à la moutarde à l’ancienne
- Prawn 'crumble' with lightly spiced preserved peppers , a "mousseline" (or light sauce) of avocado, garnished with crunchy vegetables, and a savoury mustard ice-cream
OR
- Panna Cotta de foie gras de canard, chutney de mangue poivrée, biscuit de pain d’épices et salade mesclun
- A savoury panna cotta of duck pate, with peppery mango chutney, accompanied by spiced bread and salad.
Main
- Pavé de lieu noir poêlé, caviar d’aubergine brûlée à la flamme, compote de tomates multi couleurs et pesto
- Pan fried pollock fillet, flame-cooked aubergine-caviar (not made from roe, but aubergine, although it resembles caviar), and a compote of multi-coloured tomatoes and pesto.
OR
- Ballotine de volaille fermière aux truffes d’été, mousseline d’épinards et ail confit
- "Ballotine" (like a meat swiss roll) of free range chicken with summer truffles, spinach mousseline and a garlic confit.
Dessert
- Déclinaison de chocolat noir Mangaro 1er cru, sorbet cacao et fraises laquées au basilic
- Dark chocolate dessert done many ways! Served with a cocoa sorbet and basil glazed strawberries

- Assortment of local cheeses.

- Café et mignardises
- Coffee and mini desserts- a little like petits fours
Wine or soft drinks of your choice will be served with the meal. Please be aware that wine is often a similar price to soft drink in French restaurants.
All of the above, plus drinks with the meals will be included in the fixed price of £50 / head. We will be collecting money and paying directly so, on the day, you can turn up and just focus on enjoying yourself. Please do ask us if you have any questions or dietary needs not covered above. This restaurant is a long time favourite with Rhiannon's family and they return again and again for special occasions- Simon, the chef, has even managed to get Phil enjoying mushrooms, much to his surprise! We hope you all enjoy it as much as we do.
